Saturday, February 14, 26. I'm Jared Halpern. DHS is shut down as Republicans and Democrats

spar over ICE and border patrol. The Democrats want ICE reforms, that they've not seen

things that are sufficient yet. Plus, they kind of have to show their political base that they're fighting against ICE and after what happened in Minnesota.

And the Trump administration is trying to make home ownership more affordable.

Interest rates are too high, prohibitively high. And if we can fix that dynamic, I'm telling you

right now, I think that people will be able to more afford a home while also preserving the value of people's homes.

This is the Fox News Rundown from Washington.

Stop me if you've heard this recently, but there's a partial government shutdown.

But this shutdown triggered last night is more partial than most, impacting only the Department of Homeland Security.

Still, that means TSA agents, members of the Coast Guard, and tens of thousands of federal law enforcement officers are at risk of missing a paycheck if Congress can't figure out a path forward.

That's about 4% of the federal government.

But under that is ICE.

Under that is, you know, some Coast Guard operations.

Under that is the TSA. Under that is FEMA.

And cyber security efforts as well. Fox News chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram says

solving the shutdown is unlikely soon as Republicans and Democrats are stalled over reforms

to immigration operations and sanctuary cities.

So it affects a lot. And I think the one thing that people are concerned about the most is the

fact that people who are impacted by this, this is their third dance at the prom, meaning that

there was the full government shutdown in the fall, then there was a

partial government shutdown a few weeks ago, and now it's just DHS. Now, that's only 4% of the federal

government. And these folks are paid for a little bit of time, we think, until about the 22nd of
