I invite you to take a Bible from the pew in front of you or your own Bible perhaps and to turn

to First Chronicles 29, page 521, 1st and 2nd Samuel, 1st and 2nd Kings, 1st and 2nd Chronicles, that helps you find

it. And while you're looking, another Thanksgiving that I'm just, I hope the microphones are

on down in the nursery.

Chapter 29 of First Chronicles, I'm going to read a longer passage,

versus 6 to 20, because it's almost a sermon in itself,

and then I'll just make brief comments on it and we'll worship again

before we go. Starting at verse six this is an interpretation of the meaning of freeing the future, as it happened in David's

day and as it happened in our day. Then the rulers of the Father's households and the princes of the tribes of Israel

and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds with the overseers over the King's work offered willingly. And for the

service of the House of God they gave 5,000 talents and 10,000 daracts of gold, and 10,000 talents of

silver and 18,000 talents of brass and 100,000 talents of iron. and whoever possessed precious stones gave them to the Treasury of the House of the Lord

in care of Jeheel the Gershainite.

Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly,

for they made their offering to the Lord with a whole heart and King David also rejoiced greatly.

And so David blessed the Lord in the sight of all the Assembly.

And David said, Blessed art thou, O Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever,

Thine, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens

and the earth, thine is the dominion, O Lord, and thou dost exalt thyself as head over all.
