It's all about the fashion industry and the workers who make all the clothes that we buy and

throw away sometimes.

In this episode, producer Alice Wilder introduces us to Lorena.

She's a garment worker, and that's not actually her real name.

We're protecting her identity because of a pending

legal claim. Now this is a story about her personal fight for fair pay and a push

to improve working conditions for everyone.

All right, here's Alice.

One day, Lorena arrived at work,

a small garment factory in downtown Los Angeles.

Most mornings her bosses would greet her warmly with a,

hi, how are you?

But not today.
