1:27.5

Now, Rob is a happiness expert, keynote speaker, author, and corporate trainer, but he took a rather circuitous route to get to that point.

1:40.5

Actually, by the time he was in his mid-twenties, Rob was an award-winning filmmaker who owned his own company and traveled the world.

1:50.5

Cameron, doing work for numerous Fortune 500 companies. A near-death survival experience made international news in a list of the call from the president of the United States.

2:07.5

And this prompted Rob to do a re-examination of life and a couple years after this experience, he and his wife sold their home and moved aboard a 40-foot sailboat.

2:23.5

I guess maybe the near-death experiences didn't end then with the original one because traveling the world in a 40-foot sailboat, for those of us who may have had some experiences locally and in much milder waters, might see this as a bit challenging too.

Well, thanks for having me, Ron. I'm a big believer in your mission of helping people age well and age actively. And I'm a little few years behind you, but I turned 70 this year.

3:55.5

And I really try and live my life not much different than I did in my 30s trying to do as many of the same active things that I've always done. And I think that's what all of us can aspire to.

4:09.5

And you certainly set a great example for others in that realm. So thanks for having me.

4:15.5

My pleasure, and I'm grateful for the fact that you mentioned that you're doing a lot of the things that you did decades ago, and that's really the goal to not look at reaching a plateau and go downhill, but to continue and keep learning and so on.

4:36.5

But before we really get into that, you've had such an interesting life and careers. Can you tell us a little bit about your pre near death experience life? What were you doing then and how did you get to into that role of having your own company and traveling the world in these clients?
