Most of them at one point before they came to federal politics had some other kind of career, some other kind of job.

There were a hundred members who worked at some point in education.

18 physicians, three dentists, three veterinarians, four nurses, seven ordained ministers, 39 former mayors, 18 former state governors, and

lieutenant governors, 15 former judges, 43 prosecutors, three ambassadors, at

least 102 congressional staffers, as well as seven congressional pages.

Six from the world of law enforcement, four Peace Corps volunteers, three scientists and

eight engineers, 22 public relations or communications professionals, 19 insurance agents, 29 farmers or ranchers.

There's even two almond orchard owners, as well as two vintnersners but there's only one former CIA

...
