Good morning gorgeous. I hope you're having a great day so far. Welcome to the Dr. Daph show. I'm your host Dr. Michelle Daph and I'm doing a requested

segment today ongoing from being a career woman to being a housewife or a homemaker.

I had a young lady who reached out saying that she felt that her calling was really to be in the home and to provide a beautiful

space for her husband and family and kind of just wanted to know what that transition was like for me

and any tips or anything that could make. what that

anything that could maybe help her in this season of life,

she would be grateful for.

So I thought it was a really good topic

because this is one of those things that until I really learned about being in my feminine and how important that was for myself and for my husband was when I realized the value in being a homemaker, especially in my

culture and also like I would say in the African American culture being a homemaker is a privilege

but it's also one of those things that is often frowned upon or people tend to kind

of have like this jealous sort of like energy towards women who do this and they kind of get

stereotyped as certain kinds of women but there are so many benefits to being in the home, just like there's benefits

to being in the workplace, and one is definitely not better than the other. However, there are some things that I believe being a homemaker gives you that work could never ever give you.

And I can make an episode later talking about the benefits of being a homemaker and why I think it's something that if you're

blessed with the opportunity to explore I think is so valuable but that's not we're

going to talk about today. I'm going to keep it really casual today. We've had a lot of very heavy topics. I kind of just want to chat with you and just give you some of my experiences and maybe it'll be something that you can think about if you're still single and you're trying to figure out what you want to do in the future or if you're married or you have children.

You may need that kind of aha moment where you think, you know what, this might be something I need to pray about and see what God says.
