We're still in Matthew chapter 11 talking about John the Baptist.

And wow, Jesus has some amazing things to say about his cousin here in Matthew chapter 11.

I feel like when I grew up, my cousins were the people that always got me in trouble.

But with Jesus, his cousin was his biggest supporter and the person he admired the most.

So let's talk a little bit today about the person whom Jesus admired the most.

Now, what we learned yesterday was that John was going through a season of doubt and fear and questioning and confusion. And he had sent his disciples to

Jesus to ask Jesus, are you really the Messiah? Or are we looking for somebody else? And Jesus explained it to them that,

no, I am currently doing the things that the Old Testament prophesied would be part of Messiah's

ministry. So you go back and tell John that you're seeing and hearing these this is evidence that I am exactly

whom the Bible has predicted I will be and the time of suffering and the time of rejection

those times would come but Jesus was showing John in real time and space that indeed this is

part of the ministry of Messiah. So put your faith not in your expectations, because our expectations

and our confusions can sometimes cloud our thinking, but no, put your faith in the Word of God.

Now, in verse number seven of Matthew 11, the Bible says,
