Now, let's join Kurt for today's episode. Hey, friends, I was just sitting here thinking about

the fact that we're moving a little bit too

slowly in our study of the book of Matthew. Not that you can go too slow through the Bible. There's so

much there, but I do want to finish sometime in my lifetime. So we're going to move a little bit more

quickly today, Lord willing. We're in Matthew chapter 8 and verse number 23. I told you last episode that Jesus was

about to go to the other side, which is the east side of the Sea of Galilee. It's the place

where the Gentiles were. And honestly, most of the east side, there's no towns.

There was really only one town, the town of Hippos, which was one of the towns of Decapolis,

and because there's just cliffs, there's just really no place for towns to be.

And Jesus was just looking to get away from the crowds, but before he left, a couple people that

were would-be disciples made some excuses, and Jesus dealt with those excuses. We talked about that

yesterday, now in verse number 23, and when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

Now, you're going to recognize this story.

And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, big storm,

in so much that the ship was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

And his disciples came to him and awoke him, saying,

Lord, save us, we perish. And he said unto them, saith unto them, why are ye fearful, oh, ye of little
