I'm Paige Browning with a roundup of today's top stories. It's Friday, March 6th.

It happened fast. The proposed tax on millionaires in Washington is now moving ahead with speed.

And this new version of a proposed tax on incomes over a million dollars has finally swayed

Governor Bob Ferguson. He now says he will sign it if it reaches his desk. State government

reporter Sarah Mises Tan has the latest.

The governor says the latest version meets his demands for more relief for working families.

It adds child care investments and free meals for all students in public schools. There are also

sales tax breaks for diapers, hygiene products, and now over-the-counter medications.

Ferguson is also praising the expansion of the working families tax credit in the income tax

bill.

Representative April Berg is ferrying it through the House.

She says it now reflects the shared priorities of lawmakers in the House and the Senate.
