The results of the French election have sent shockwaves throughout the world economy and world

politics as the far right scored a first round victory.

With President Macron's party sidelined, it is up to a new alliance of left-wing parties

to stop the far-right candidates when the second round takes place this weekend. We need a new system. We need a new society. We need to demand that which may have sounded

impossible even a few weeks ago, but is not only realizable, but an imperative necessity. We are very excited to have Professor Richard Wolfe join us for a regular weekly segment,

Well, Professor Wolf, we've talked about France, President Macron,

before on this show, usually in the context of some sort of anti-worker reform, you know, the crush unions to privatize pensions, to raise the age of retirement. But there was a massive political development over the weekend and now a second round of the election to come this coming weekend. Tell us what

happened in France during the legislative election. What are the main forces, the main coalitions

involved, and how is it shaking out? Well, thank you, Walter, for asking me. I'm very happy to do it,

particularly because the mainstream media in the United

States have either said nothing about this, which is inexcusable, or they have rendered

it in a way that is almost equally inexcusable in its lopsided, biased way.
