Summary

I've always had a lot of questions about France's obsession with dubbing films, so I sat down with Jean-Pierre Michael, who is the French voice of Brad Pitt and Keanu Reeves, to find out more.

He explains whether he voices each actor differently, if he gets recognized in daily life, and what happens if another actor were to voice Brad Pitt (it happened once, it wasn't pretty!)

My attempt to figure out this country, and a big part of figuring out France, is understanding, perhaps accepting, that they do movies a little bit differently here.

should I talk to about it? And I figured the best person to talk to would be someone who gives the

voice to one of the A-listers from Hollywood. And lucky for us all, we've got Brad Pitt. But not just

0:53.0

Brad Pitt. We got Keanu Reeves, Ethan Hawke, Michael

0:56.3

Fasbender, sometimes even Ben Affleck. And they're all voiced by the same gentleman. His name is

1:01.7

Jean-Pierre-Michaille. He's a French actor. He's not just a voice actor. He's an actor. You're

1:06.4
