Summary

Freedom To Roam is a music and multi-media project dreamed up by the flautist Eliza Marshall as a response to many of the pressing issues facing us right now. On this walk climbing the glorious Malvern Hills she is joined by Catrin Finch (harp), Andrew Morgan (percussion) Donal Rogers (piano, guitar and more) and Jackie Shave (violin) to share the exquisite music they’ve created to tell a story of migration, liberation and care for our planet.

Well, it's amazing you're here, Matthew, and so we're in West Malvern.

Our house is built into the hills, so if you go into our kitchen, we have a rock there.

1:22.2

And we're looking out over the forests and the woods that head out towards the west and whales.

1:28.7

It's the most spectacular view. There's a sort of wooded hill there

1:31.9

and then the hills spread away into the distance, don't they?

1:35.3

They do. I mean, from here we can see out there we've got Clee Hill,

1:40.7

so that's out towards Shropshire. Then we get the sunset here as well, obviously, because we're on the west, which is really fantastic.

1:47.2

And then you've got a kind of band of trees.

1:49.8

We look at that from our little studio in the house, and it really reminds me of sort of the

Ent and Tolkien, who loved Moulven, and how that might have influenced him.

2:00.1

And do you think if we went inside the house,

2:01.6

we might find some other musicians?
