On tonight's free thinking, we consider the history of Berenice, a curious child who lived in a

glass pagoda transported by her parents to New England from the Loire Valley. She didn't

exist, but her story can be extracted from an old suitcase,

currently on display at the Royal Academy. Ian Sinclair will be unpacking it for us later in the

programme. We also hear the tale of a Frenchman who lived in Leeds, where in 1888 he shot the

world's first motion picture, but whose pioneering career ended two years later when he boarded a train

to Dijon and was never seen again. He did exist and is the subject of a new film called

the first film. We'll also give you a briefing on James Bond and modern geopolitics. He doesn't
