There's been a shift that's happened on my side of the political fence.

I always thought that the more working class left part would actually be the one that would win.

And this was, I was wrong.

And unfortunately, I think the increasingly on the left, it's more dominated by a more, a richer cohort and a more educated cohort.

And that has a lot of problems.

This is Ricky, and today I'm going to have

Greg Lukianoff on the show. He is a First Amendment expert who's previously worked at the ACLU

and is currently the president and CEO of Fire, which was previously the foundation for individual

rights and education and is now the foundation for individual rights and expression.

It's a nonprofit that fights for people's free speech rates. I'm a fellow there. And Greg is also

the co-author of The Coddling of the American Mind, a New York Times bestseller about my generation

and our trials and tribulations. And he's also the co-author of the upcoming book, The Cancelling of

the American Mind with Yours Truly, which will be out in October. Well, Greg, thanks so much for

being here. I'm sure that all of our longtime listeners are familiar with you and your work and

the fact that we have a book coming up. But I figure perhaps first we can start with the story of how we met, which is now

two years ago. I'm amazed like May 2021. So just for context, I was I was still at NYU, I think.

It was my second or third article for The New York Post just as a part-time contributor. And I reached out to

Greg because I wanted to write a now very optimistic in retrospect article about how Gen Z could

be uncodled by the pandemic. And perhaps this would be our generation defining fortifying event.
