It's a wonderful way to effectively and efficiently set up a child for success. It takes less than five minutes to complete and it gives a great overview of a child for their

teachers, tutors, coaches, therapists, and for anyone who supports them. The reason I developed the

snapshot was because I kept hearing the same things over and over again. Teachers would tell me, oh, I, you know,

I wish I would have known this about the child because I may have been able to prevent that meltdown

and supported them in a more effective way. Parents have told me that they wish they would have

teacher so that they could help their child feel more comfortable and really feel understood

in the classroom. So let's talk about this easy to fill one page sheet. Our family is excited that

you will be working with our child. I just wanted to take this opportunity to help you get to know them. The more you know about them, the more successful they'll be. Sometimes our child's neurological differences can cause challenges for them, which are, and you fill in that blank with one or two sentences. So that educator can really understand your child even better.

A way to start a great relationship with our child is to ask them about their likes, which are,

and you write one or two sentences about your child's interests.

Our child gets so excited when others notice and praise their strengths. Their strengths are you fill in the blank. Sometimes challenges

look like bad behavior, but it could actually be, and then you type that in. This is actually, I think, the most

important part to you is because we never want to assume the child is being purposely disruptive

at school. In my experience, in my past 23 years of experience, I rarely ever think that's the case.

It's usually a child is tired or hungry or their meds might be wearing off or they're feeling

overwhelmed by the environment, maybe a sensory difference.
