Greetings, Parish Orphins and Retrogrades. Happy Easter Monday. I hope your Easter was phenomenal.

0:07.7

Now, I come to you after not a ton of shows over the last two and a half weeks. You understand why,

0:13.8

because the world is strange, macroscopically, microscopically, we've all been undergoing our own

0:19.9

stuff here at Rules for Retrogrades.

0:22.1

We have been embattled.

0:24.6

This includes tons of stuff that's happened over the past month from late March to Easter.

0:31.3

And we're going to catch up on an important happening from about a month ago that everyone missed because of the consecration of Russia and

0:41.1

Ukraine. It was the promulgation of a new constitution, a nine years promised constitution

0:49.1

under Pope Francis called predicate Evangelium, which means proclaiming the gospel or preaching the gospel,

0:56.2

which those of us who have criticized Francis over the last nine years say, isn't proselytizing a sin?

1:03.9

And now Francis is making all of these relatively radical changes in the name of preaching the

1:10.2

gospel. I'm going to give you a brief summary view

1:14.1

of what this one document accomplished. It was originally promulgated like a month ago, almost to the

1:22.3

1:29.0

the faith formerly called the Holy Office, the highest of all of the dikastries, has been demoted,

1:34.9

more or less. Back in February, Pope Francis promised that it would be broken into two sections,

1:41.1

doctrine and discipline. It's no longer really the Supreme Holy Office, proclaiming the gospel, also makes it

1:50.3

such that lay women and lay men can oversee as prefect Vatican offices.

1:57.7

Also, it takes these offices from being called the congregations, it was originally

2:04.3

16 congregations, to decasteries. This is a more administrative, secular term, congregation,

2:11.5

formerly called the sacred congregations before JP2 changed that and then just called the congregations,

2:17.0

now called the de castries. We'll talk about that a little bit called the congregations, now called the DeCastries.
