Let's dive into everything baseball related from Friday, August 16th.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes,

and we'll start with the bad news as starting pitcher Tyler Glassnow was placed on the 15-day IL

with right elbow tendonitis.

The oft-injured Glass Now will head to the IL for the second month in a row after surviving the first three months of the season without an IL stint.

The last time it was back tightness, but this time it's much more serious as its elbow troubles.

The Dodgers will be extra cautious with Glassnow, especially after signing him to an extension in the off season.

So expect them to bring him back slowly

and limit his innings in September in preparation for the playoffs.

Justin Rebleski was recalled from the miners in a corresponding move and will take

Glass Nouse's place in the rotation.

The 23-year-old rookie has a 4.05 ERA and four starts at the big league level this year.

In terms of transactions, first baseman Nico Cavadas had his contract selected from the miners.

He became the Angels number 30 prospect when he was acquired at the deadline in exchange for Luis Garcia, the reliever.

Cavadas is your classic three true outcomes left-handed hitting first baseman at AAA.

The 25-year-old has 19 homers, a 137 WRC plus and a 16% walk rate, but with that
