Summary

After weeks of strict shelter-in-place measures being enforced throughout the country, a handful of states have decided to relax some of their social-distancing measures. America's lockdown was originally based on scientific models that projected millions of cases and horrifying death tolls. There have been skeptics out there who have believed that the data behind those morbid predictions was wrong and therefore some of the stay-at-home mandates went too far. Earlier this week, Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume hosted a special segment of the Rundown and spoke with former New York Times reporter and author Alex Berenson. Berenson has been tweeting for weeks that he believes the models are wrong and the dangers of Covid-19 have been overstated. Those tweets have put him in the center of the debate and have made him a target for many online. Brit Hume's interview with the journalist covered a lot of ground and was too long to include in our entire segment. On The Fox News Rundown Extra, you will here the entire conversation. Berenson gives his take on some of the arguments behind the policies that have shutdown huge parts of the economy. He also specifically addresses what he considered questionable data regarding the mortality rate and infection rate of the coronavirus. Exclusively in the Extra, Berenson also discusses the pushback he received after becoming a public skeptic of the virus. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
