0:57.1	COVID racked the world and also the year that a hotly contested presidential election led to
1:03.3	unrest and we were not very happy. We were glad to see 2020 in the rearview mirror and we all
1:08.8	believed, I believed that certainly by this time, this year,
1:14.2	and by this time in 2021, COVID would have worked its way out of the headlines and that in
1:20.2	2021 we would get back to normal.
1:23.1	Well, normal seems to be COVID.
1:26.7	The Omicron variant is sweeping the world and sweeping the nation.
1:31.7	And to the cynical eye, and I will confess to some cynicism, the left seems to be content that it be so because extending COVID extends their control over our lives.
1:45.0	The great Lord Fauci, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a guy you had probably never heard of prior to the spring of 2020,
1:52.3	even though he has been in government service for 55 astonishing years,
1:57.3	now says that we should probably cancel our New Year's Eve plans for tomorrow night.
