Found sounds are a new addition to as the season turns for 2024.

Brief, meditative episodes for listeners who wish to feel that little bit more immersed in the natural world as we move through the year.

grounding ourselves in nature and the rhythms our ancestors

have always followed. This month, Alice is back on another foraging walk with Zoe Gilbert,

author, folklorist and contributor to As the Season Turns. This time, they're looking for some

autumnal treasures among the falling leaves

in an ancient woodland near Ham Street in Kent. You may wish to pause the podcast here for a moment,

while you find somewhere warm and quiet, to close your eyes, sit back and settle down into this

month's found sound.

So, can you describe where we are right now?

We're just entering Ham Streetwoods in Kent

and we can hear the stream that's running along the edge of the wood

it's rained load so it sounds really full

and even though it's a bit misty today

there's a few misty today,

there's a few birds singing.

I can hear a robin going for it.

And we're going to go and have a moot around and see if we can find some fungi.

Yes, that's the flam.
