Perhaps it's because Elizabeth and I just finished listening to the podcast Serial by this American life,

which chronicles a murder in a who-done-it fashion that today's story has me so intrigued.

Shirley Hardy-Ricks and Brian Ricks have now done three major trips just

completing their last to Siberia and Beyond. And in today's episode of Adventure Rider

radio you're going to hear a story of adventure in many of the usual ways, but you're also going to hear

about a murder in Siberia that has bikers riding scared.

And as the story would have it, deep in the forest of Siberia lives some people referred to, at

least in this story, as the forest people. The forest people are purported to be

very dangerous, or at least some of them are.

In an area of Siberia in which the way we've come to understand it,

there are no fuel stations except for this town called Mogacha.

The story goes that Mogotia is a very dangerous yet necessary stop for fuel

and lodging along this route. Now there's a local motorcycle club called the

Mogotia Iron Angels that flag bikers down and bring them back to their

clubhouse for safe haven.

The backstory is murder and deception, but I'm going to let the Rixes tell you that.
