Welcome back. It's the big blue banter New York Giants football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier.

I joined as always my co-host Nick Falado. And today we are talking about what has us excited about this New York Giants football team heading into the 2025 season.

And there are reasons to believe that both Nick and I are excited about this team for the first time in a while.

It's tempered excitement.

We're not like sitting here saying we are the Kansas City Chiefs.

We are going to beat the Eagles.

We understand our place in this whole thing.

But I do believe the Giants have a really good chance to take a big step forward as a team.

That means both defense individually where I think they have a bigger chance to take a step

forward and even offense where I really think there's an opportunity to take a step forward,

hopefully special teams as well does their jobs and coaching even that regard.

But there are opportunities for this team to be a team we can actually appreciate Nick

and respect and feel happy about watching on a week

to week basis.

Not like there's another Giants game this week.

We got to watch tape of Daniel Jones and Drew Locke.

We have to do this.

It's not a have to anymore, I hope.

I hope it will become a want to watch this team, even if they don't win all these

tough games against the chiefs and all these tough games on their schedule, at least a team that can

take the chiefs to the fourth quarter with a lead surprising and be like, we lost, but, you know,

it's a moral victory. And I'm not trying to celebrate all the moral victories, by the way, Nick, but this is a team that needs any kind of victory you can get moral or not
