Summary

With so many talented people losing their jobs this past year, it’s hard not to think about the song “Music and the Mirror” from the musical “A Chorus Line” where Cassie begs to be given just a chance to work. All I ever needed is the music, and the mirror, and the chance to dance for you.

The pioneering musical was created in New York City in the early 70s during an economic downturn when a lot of actors and dancers were out of work. When the performers showed up, many of them didn’t know that it would be a workshop where they’d be asked to bare their souls and turn their personal stories into what would become A Chorus Line.

Today actor, singer, dancer, model John Marshall Jr. joins us to take a look at the songs from A Chorus Line through his own experience in being in the legendary show and his career as a musical theater performer.

Are the dancers really expected to learn all those moves in seconds? Is everyone beautiful at the ballet? What happens when you feel nothing during an acting class with a mean acting teacher? How far will tits and ass get you?
