I'm Marissa Martinelli and assistant editor here at Slate, and today we're spoiling Fleabag, which stars Phoebe Waller Bridge as a troubled, sex-loving, fourth wall-breaking woman running a cafe in London.

While the first season of the BBC show was dominated by the mystery of what happened to Fleabag's friend and business partner, Boo,

the second season, which debuted on Amazon just this month, further explores her relationship with her family,

as her father and her godmother prepared to get married, and with the priest who will be performing the ceremony,

played by Andrew Scott.

Hello, hello. So this show began as a monologue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe by Phoebe Waller Bridge, who is the star and also the creator.

And I was reading a review in The Independent from that time that said, and I quote,

I doubt if this material will spin off into a long-running radio or television series.

I mean, that's not a ringing endorsement of the monologue, but it's also true in a way.

It did become a television series, but not a long-running television series.

There are two seasons, and the last season, Phoebe Waller Ridge, has been adamant, is the last season.

There will be no more Fleabag.

I don't think she's been that adamant from what I was reading. I feel like she gave a few quotes
