Welcome to William Ramsey Investigates on today's show of a very special guest.

His name is Dr. Richard A. Williams.

And he's publishing a book which will be published within the month on October 26th, 2021.

The title of the book is Fixing Food.

An FDA insider unravels the myths and the solutions.

And Dr. Richard A. Williams is an economist,

risk analyst, op-ed writer, and an expert in food safety and nutrition. From 1980 to 2007,

he served as the director for social science with the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition

at the FDA. From 2007 to 2016, he was the vice president for

policy research at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He recently served on the

U.S. EPA Science Advisory Board and is the board chairman for the Center for Truth in Science

and a board member of the Institute for

the Advancement of Food and Nutrition Sciences. He is also a senior affiliated scholar with the Utah

State Center for Growth and Opportunity and the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.

So a really interesting book. He has a lot of fascinating stories about his time in government, particularly

at the FBI, but he can talk more about that. So Dr. Richard A. Williams, are you there?

I'm here. Thank you. Awesome. Well, thanks for agreeing to the interview. People may not have heard

your name or, you know, the stories about the FBI. Can you talk about your background and what

led you to write this book, Fixing Food? Sure. Well, first of all, I never intended to go into the federal government.
