Summary

Reid Carpenter might be 80 years old, but he hasn’t slowed down, and he isn’t planning on it anytime soon. A spiritual grandfather and mentor to Brian, Reid has devoted his life to his home city of Pittsburg. From starting multiple nonprofits, to helping launch Young Life, Reid is a living example of the power of hard work, and how its ripple effect can influence generations.

1:12.9	ministry, brought me in a ministry, which is my day job, which is not the aggressive life,
1:19.3	although the aggressive life, I guess, is ministry. That's not tell anybody about that, though.
1:22.9	Yeah, we keep that under wraps. Yeah, keep that under wraps. And so I had him on,
1:27.1	which was supposed to be our last conversation of his life
1:30.0	a couple years ago.
1:32.7	And a lot of tears on that, a lot of boo-hooing.
1:36.1	And today I'm going to have on the guy who led Denny to Christ, the guy who actually

1:46.2	have actually come through read directly or indirectly because he set up kind of a culture
1:53.0	and a bunch of things that trickled down to be able to get me. In fact, here's a funny story,

2:05.9	had time with denny uh for our for our podcast and i put down the phone i was i was rushing away
2:15.0	and the phone rang and it was reedly i call them readly everybody who i like phone rang, and it was Reedley, I call him Reedley,
2:19.1	everybody who I like has a dirt name, it has a nickname.
