Summary

This week I grabbed a rod and followed Fred Miessner out for a fishing adventure from the bridges of the Seine River.

Did we catch the big one? The monster catfish in the murky depths?

Hello everyone. You're listening to the Earful Tower podcast. My name is Oliver G. This is a show about

0:04.3

Paris and often it's about things that you kind of would connect immediately with Paris. You know,

0:10.2

things like recent episodes have been fashion and food and tourist traps and that kind of stuff.

0:15.4

But this is a very different episode indeed. This is an episode about fishing.

0:22.5

My guest is Fred Meisner, who I'm going to introduce properly in a second, but I just want to paint a little

0:26.6

bit of a picture and give you some background info first, especially if you're new around

0:29.8

0:44.2

You'll hear people walking past.

0:45.6

You'll hear me almost trip over a poodle at one point.

0:48.4

But that's just to set the scene.

0:49.8

We're going to be walking from one edge of the Il San Luis to the other. In fact, we end on the

0:56.1

I'll share more pictures about the map and everything that was happening on social media.

1:01.6

1:07.4

know what a meter is, I've done it for you. It's just over eight feet. And when you hear 100 kilos, that's 220 pounds. There's a bit of a clue for something that

1:15.5

might be coming up. There's also a mention of 50 centimeters, which is about one and a half

1:19.5

feet. So there you go. You're welcome. How this episode came about was kind of cool.

1:25.0

If you read my book, Paris on Air, you'll know that I used to

1:28.0

play a lot of basketball in the Marais. And one of the weird things about playing with these guys

1:34.2

is we often talk basketball. We don't talk like not so often so deeply about what we do in life
