We are already at that time of year where people start asking the question, who's going to get fired first?

Because there are some teams out there playing some bad baseball, many of them with very high payrolls.

And that is usually a recipe for an ousting at any point in the season, let alone early in the season, but everything's in play

when you're talking about the kind of money that's being spent now, especially with baseball,

potentially on the verge of a work stoppage.

So many of you know that I've been based in Boston, covered baseball here for a long time.

I started covering the Red Sox back in full time back in

1994-95 area and got off the beat and got into talk radio about 15 years after that,

had a Hall of Fame vote until just a couple of years ago. So many people have asked me

recently about Alex Cora. I don't think the Red Sox would fire Cora in season, but you never know.

Things get bad enough.

Could certainly happen.

Craig Breslow did not really hire Cora in the first place,

as much as the Red Sox would like to make you think that he did.

He did not.

So Kenny Rosenthal of Fox and the Athletic was asked about some of the obvious managerial

candidates to get fired and kind of dismissed Cora.

I happen to agree with Kenny.

I think there's a chance Cora could get fired at the end of the year.
