It's the first military action from the Biden administration.

The U.S. launched air strikes in Syria.

American fighter jets dropped bombs on a command hub there.

It's apparently where a couple Iranian-backed militia groups store weapons, and several facilities

were destroyed.

A UK-based human rights group says 17 people were killed in this strike.

The Pentagon is saying these strikes were retaliation, meant to send a message to Iran and its

militia, not to launch any more rockets at U.S. forces in the Middle East.
