Welcome to Fine Tune and Good Through Taylor, you won stop shop when it comes to animation news and

commentary. I'm Drew's co-host entertainment writer Jim Hill and he and I are recording this week's

0:09.6

show on Friday, July 23rd, 2021. Now Drew, if this were a normal year, you and I might have been

0:17.5

able to record this show together in the exact same place, because more than likely we both would

0:22.2

have been down in San Diego for Comic Con. Realistically, between Preview Night starting at Wednesday,

0:29.4

this is Friday night. So we'd already be exhausted, right, from bringing back to the Hilton,

0:35.2

where the press stuff is, to sneak into the back door at Hall H, hoping somebody's got you a pass.

0:40.8

I mean, we're tired, but we're not the bone-tired way you are on Sunday night. It's at that moment

0:48.2

where it's like, why do I do this to myself? But at the same time, I mean, I really like Comic

0:55.4

Con. I'm just exhausting and is aggravating as it can be sometimes. You do get to see very cool

1:01.8

1:07.1

very, very cool that's being offered at this year's Comic Con. Do you have a particular favorite

1:12.1

memory of going down there? Well, you know, last time I went was great because I went down on like

1:18.9

Friday night and came back on Sunday morning. And so I just had Hall H on Saturday. I walked

1:25.1

around. I got to say hello to some of my favorite artists and toy makers. And, you know, that was the

1:31.7

big phase four presentation for Marvel that, you know, had a fantastic four and blade and all that.

1:40.0

And, you know, jumped on a panel right afterwards was on a panel there. And, you know, it was,

1:45.7

it was a whirlwind, but it was really fun. I mean, one year I went down and hosted a panel of

1:50.0

animators from Walt Disney Animation Studios that did comics outside of their profession,

1:55.7

which was very cool and very interesting. A lot of those guys aren't there anymore. But I think

1:59.6

Natalie was on the the panel back then. This was before her. What is it? How to have a career

2:07.5

in animation? Or I came to LA to have a career in animation? There we go, Natalie. Yeah, you know,
