I live in this strange corner of New Hampshire where there's a sort of tiny group of farmers who love to grow giant pumpkins.

The one in the picture I sent you from Milford is like 2,400 pounds. They brought it in on a flatbed truck.

I've never seen anything like that before and those are naturally grown or they like

souped up with you know some kind of synthetic hormones or something.

No, to hear them, it's all about you cross-breed pumpkins.

Lots of working with seeds and that sort of thing and they trade them back and forth like

their nuclear secrets and the weirdest thing is as the season ends well what do you

do with a giant pumpkin and what you do is you hollow it out and rather than have Cinderella right around inside of it

what they do is take these out in the town of Gostone they throw them in the Baskataway

River and they actually have a boat race.

It's called the Pumpkin Regatta.
