My guest today is someone who came into my life towards the end of last year as a coach and incredible trainer who inspired me to refind my love for boxing. George Vaness is the founder of Jab, a boxing gym in London that offers both group and private boxing coaching with current and ex-professional boxers.

A previous professional boxer himself, George has been boxing since he was six years old and he represented England a dozen times before

eventually turning from fighting to coaching amateurs. George welcome to

which I've actually never asked you before

is about how you found your love boxing I mentioned in my intro that you started

boxing age six so you started young talk to me about how you got into it

I my granddad took my brother and I followed my brother into the boxing gym.

And boxing's one of them sports, like if you fall in love with it and you get hooked in it, you ain't coming out of it.

Do you know what I mean?

It's like one of them, you know, and when you do come out of it, it's like a breakup.

You're preaching to the convert in.

You know?

I'm like a fully paid up member of the fan club. I love it though you're so right. Yeah, you're so right. So that was our I sort of got into it, went down the boxing club, I was six years old, started training.

Boxing's one of them things like where you go, every fighter that's come into a boxing gym

has gone through a stage of when they start, they get beat up for a little old, you know what I mean?

The first couple of weeks and then you sort of start to hold your own and then it's something

that once you're in that lifestyle and you're in a club where you've got other kids in there and other fighters that are winning

titles. You, for me, I just got like hooked on, I really want to be a national champion.

And that's like the big thing when you're fighting as a kid. So I got into that

into that world and to that life and I've never left it. I actually had a
