Some mistakes haunt us forever.

And for those of us who use Twitter, that includes every fat-fingered typo we ever made in a tweet.

But after countless pleas for an edit button like those on Facebook and LinkedIn, Twitter

has finally given us a glimmer of hope and a function ever so creatively named, Edit, Tweet.

On September 1st, Twitter posted a screenshot of an edited tweet to

its blog. It's true, the blog post said, edit tweet is being tested by our team internally. The edit

function will be available to Twitter blue subscribers within the coming months. You may recall Twitter

Blue is the company's paid premium service. No word on whether the function will be rolled out to non-subscribers.

Even if you're not in the test group, you'll always be able to see when a tweet has been edited.
