Hello and welcome to this sleepy bookshelf where we put down our worries from the day and pick up a good book.

In our last episode we read the final pages of Cranford. It was such a

sweet book very much in keeping with the stories we love here on the bookshelf.

I hope you enjoyed it.

For the rest of youramford and everyone was in awe of all the wonderful stories he told of his travels in India and the Far East.

Though these did seem to alter somewhat on their scale of grandeur

depending on who he was talking to. Mrs Jamieson in particular

found him very impressive indeed. A note was received by Miss Matty, informing her that Miss

Jesse, the Colonel's daughter married to Major Brown was planning a visit back to Cranford after their return

from living on the continent. She longed to see everyone and so it was to be that they would plan a reception at the George.

Invites were expressly extended to every person Miss Jessie, Miss Jessie Brown, knew during her time in the town.

Mrs. Jameson did not confirm whether she would condescend to attending with so many common folk

due to be there. But Mr Peter made it his mission to convince her to come. He printed out a large placard

declaring that Signior Brunioni would be performing the same evening as the reception

and that everyone in Cranford was welcome to attend for free

at the expense of the Honorable Mrs. Jameson.

Mr. Peter was on his best form that evening,

wowing Mrs. Jameson with his tales of his many great expeditions.

He explained later that he was determined

to use all his skills of charm and entertainment to ensure Mrs.ieson be placated as he knew how much his sister
