Summary
In my work over the past 5 years, I've seen a disturbing trend in men of sedation, mediocrity, and lifelessness. It seems to me too many men have lost their appetite for adventure, excitement, and a life full of meaning and purpose.
If you feel like that describes you (even to some degree), or you know someone it does, this is going to be a powerful podcast. My guest today is Traver Boehm and he joins me to talk about his new book, Man Uncivilized. We cover what it means to be a man, how and why we should become more "uncivilized," overcoming playing the perpetual "nice guy," and showing up fully in our lives and the lives of others.

TRAVER BOEHM
Gents, I'm stoked to introduce you to my friend, Traver Boehm.
He is a strength and conditioning coach, a Crossfit gym owner, an MMA fighter, a bodyguard, a surfer, acupuncturist, and so much more. He's got an incredible resume of interesting life experiences including sitting in complete isolation and pitch-black darkness for a month in Guatemala.
It's those types of experiences that give Traver perspectives that many of us haven't considered before. Much of which is documented in his new book, Man Uncivilized, which is what we cover in our conversation today. I haven't known Travis for long but I definitely admire his passion and excitement for life, what it means to be a man, and a willingness to help others on their own path of masculinity.

As I'm sure you know, habits make the man. We've all heard the quote, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit."
That's exactly what we've covering inside our exclusive brotherhood, the Iron Council, this month – habits. We're uncovering how to eliminate habits that don't serve us, discovering ones that do, and implementing systems and processes to ensure that we incorporate the right habits into our lives.
If you're interested in banding with us and creating the frameworks that will ensure your success on the family and/or career front, head to www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil to learn more and lock in your spot along with 500+ other men who are on similar paths.

| 1:24.3 | in the battle to reclaim and restore masculinity. In gentlemen, it is a battle. It seems to me that |
| 1:30.5 | more and more people are dismissing undermining masculinity. In fact, later this week, I'm going to do |
| 1:36.3 | a podcast on Friday about why that is because I don't know that I've ever fully articulated why |
