Summary

Today's episode is a replay of my interview form 2018 with Lyn Ulbricht, the mother of Ross Ulbricht. With Ross being pardoned by President Trump, I felt it was a great time to revisit this interview and to shine a light on the incredible story of a mother fighting for her son. Here's my original show notes: On today's episode of Felony Friday Lyn Ulbricht joins John Odermatt to discuss her son Ross Ulbricht's case. Ross, of Silk Road fame, was convicted of money laundering, computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic fraudulent identity documents, and conspiracy to traffic narcotics by means of the internet in February 2015. He is currently serving a double life sentence plus forty years without the possibility of parole. Subscribe to John’s Finding Freedom Show solo feed to listen to “Pursuit of Freedom,” which is a new podcast series where John shares the highs and lows of his entrepreneurial journey. Check out our merchandise at the Lions of Liberty Store for all of our awesome t-shirts, mugs and hats! Lyn has been working tirelessly, doing media and giving speeches to raise awareness of the injustice Ross experienced at the hands of federal agents, prosecutors and the judge. The case and the trial were rampant with corruption and rights violations. Essentially, Ross's defense wasn't permitted to present a defense!  Learn more about your ad choices. This week, on today's episode, we are going to be rewinding the track here. And I will be playing an episode recorded back in 2018 with

Ross Ulbrook's mother, Lynn Oldbrick. A couple reasons for this. Number one, obviously, this is a very important time to be talking about Ross

1:34.1

Ulbricht with him just getting a full pardon from President Trump.

Incredible news, amazing news.

1:42.4

I honestly, I didn't expect this, but when the news broke

1:46.3

last week, I got a little bit emotional. Hearing it and seeing that picture of Ross and just

knowing what his family has been through, his mother, Lynn, I got a little bit emotional, caught me

off guard.

And in my time doing my old show, Felony Friday, which is the time period that this

recording you're going to hear is from, it was always so amazing to be able to have people back on the show after I'd interviewed

their relatives and bring on those people who had been incarcerated at the time.

2:28.9

Probably highly likely I'm not going to get to interview Ross Oldbrick, and that's fine.
