We immediately looked to Mookie Betts and say, what does that mean for him?

Were we talking about the wrong guy, Maz?

And who should we be talking about? Yep, but we whiffed. I whiffed because I immediately went to Betts when I saw his name and the story that Jeff Passen wrote. And the reality is the guy we should be talking about is Bogarts. What's Machado's contract mean for Bogarts? And so he's not as good as Machado. that's just a fact. He's not. He's not as, you know, he doesn't have the power, the production, all of that. So he say, okay, fine. So maybe 75% of Machado, that's what you want to say based on last year? Well, we're going to look at some of the stats, but go ahead. Okay, so if he's 75% of Machadoado you're going to give him seven or eight years and

twenty two and a half million a year you're going to do that are you nope why not because he's

not worth him i look i like bogarts as a player i always have okay although i was ready to trade him

two years ago because i felt like he was never going to reach his ceiling he finally had a good

year last year and he when i say a good year, something close to his potential. I think he's even capable of a little more than last year. But nonetheless, that was good. It was a good year. And yet I look at it, say, of all the guys they have up, bets, sale. In different times, Bogart's up after this year. Correct. Betts has two more years. J.D. Martinez could opt out after this year so he could be a factor. All those guys those four guys, I put Bogart's fourth. Fourth. To me, he's the fourth most important guy. Betts, sale, he said J.D. Martinez? Yep, I put sale ahead of Bogarts, believe it or not.

And I, because I said you, I would wait on sale, but I didn't say let him go. You'd prioritize Martinez or Zander Bogartz. I would. Every day, young shortstop. I would. Is Zander Bogarty Martinez, a game changer in my mind? Is Zandoburger's a top five shortstop in the game?
