We're all

annoyed and upset and disappointed.

And I feel like there was a mismatch between the talent that we had on paper and the way that it was expressed on the court, whatever.

I mean, the actual and the potential, there was a gap.

So that's as close as you'll hear, Wick Grosbeck, Celtics owner, is saying he's upset with his team, or that his team underachieved.

There was a gap between the actual and the potential.

It's a good way to put it.

If you don't want to say we underachieved. If you don't want to say the word, we underachieved. And he does not want to say the word. So the way he puts it is there was a gap. There was a gap, which is, you know, but for him to say he was annoyed, upset, and disappointed is a lot. I mean, because it's such a, again, rosy existence over there. And Wick and Danny are so optimistic and so positive. And they rarely get on their team. So for Wick to say annoyed, upset and disappointed, and I've never heard him say that about his team before. I've never heard him say that about his team. And I'll tell you, since he's owned the team, what was his first year of ownership? And, you know, we go back, how many times have they really underachieved? No, very rarely. And that's, that's sort of what I meant to say last week. Like, I put this as a true fail and the Celts have had so few of them. Like the Rick Petino years was a true fail. That was a fail. You didn't meet expectations and you just bollocksed it up. For the most part, though, generationally, you go as far as you should go and you don't really underachieve. And as you obviously don't win it every year, it's a hard league and you have your ups and downs like everybody else.

But very rarely do you look at a Celtics team and say they should have done more. And maybe since the first time Wick owned the team because it was Gaston when it was the Petino years, right? I think that's right. So really for the first time since Wick has owned the team, they weren't as good as they should have been. And so annoyed, upset, and disappointed is what he said.

So I hope that leads to some actual action that, that, you know, reflects that.

Oh, I think it will.

The question is how far do they go?

You know, some of that may not be their call.

Got to make some hard choices. And you got to make some real decisions. You just can't roll it back with the same group and the same mix because it obviously isn't right. So things have to change, right? And, you know, let's see, let's see what they can do. And let's see if they have the stomach to really peel off pieces that they like.

Because they're going to have to make some choices.

So let's just reset some of the sound.
