He declined that player option of $30 million with the intent that he could work out with the Celtics a new deal that might extend probably over three years.

That's what the Celtics would have liked to do.

He's 33 years old.

But they could not come to an agreement on what those terms might be like.

You can negotiate with your own free agent, and he is not officially declined it yet.

He intends to decline it.

And so he's going to head out into the marketplace, and he has a belief, I think his agent

has a belief that there is likely a four-year

deal for him at 33 years old.

That would pay him significantly more than the Celtics were willing to offer.

Well, so that happened, Maz.
