It's time for the evening feed.

I don't know if you can see it on the camera.

It's snowing right now.

Don't matter what the weather is.

Don't matter how you feel.

Doesn't matter what you want to do.

If you've got critters, you gotta feed them.

Now I get asked quite a bit. Dwayne, how much does it take to feed a horse?

That's like asking how much does it take to feed a human?

Some horses are bigger, some horses are smaller.

Some horses have a higher metabolism that burns their feet up faster.

Some horses have a slow metabolism.

Some horses need more feed when it's cold out.

But on the average riding horse,

average quarter horse size horse,

you can figure about 15 to 20 pound of hay a day.

Now, you know, we got nine horses down here.

I just had the vet come out today and pull blood for Coggins tests for shipping the ones

that were taken back to Kentucky. And one of them is staying here belongs to the owner. And two of them,

I think, are going out to a, I think they're going out to a packing business for next year.

So anyhow, nine horses, the hay is roughly on average 50 pound bells.
