Hey, Arden fam. This is your old pal, Chris, coming to you from the middle of recording Arden Season 3 to give you a heads up on a very cool project from Greater Boston co-creator Jeff Van Dreason.

The Perfect Sentence is an audio fiction concept album in which our narrator spirals out after the death of his friend Jimmy, setting

forth in search of the perfect sentence. It's part fiction, part music, surreal and

innovative, and not quite like anything I've ever heard before. Jeff and his collaborators

are doing something truly special here.

With behind-the-scenes contributions from some of our finest like Canaan feels Oliver Morris and Forgive Me's Bob Ramanda, and dozens of talented actors and musicians lending their skills, the perfect sentence is 11 remarkable tracks pushing the boundary of what audio fiction can do. It is available

on band camp or wherever you listen to your music. It's our pleasure to share the title track on our

feed, and we hope you enjoy. My friend Jimmy died of cancer in January.

I hadn't seen him in person in over 10 years.

Face-to-face contact does not define friendship, though.

There are plenty of people I consider friends, whom I've never met.

But even saying that out loud, it sounds a little funny.

There are people I speak to regularly on the internet, and when I meet them, I still say,

What defines meeting someone?

A handshake, physical contact, physical sight?

Why does that matter?

A sense of validity?

Must we scrutinize the friendship in physical form?

Are we friends?
