Well we had a very volatile day in these stock markets today following the release of the

February non-Farm payroll numbers which I will get to later in the podcast but the market

started off on a down note particularly the NASDAQ which was down I think about 2% earlier

in the morning.

In fact at that point the NASDAQ was down 12% from its high and it was actually negative

on the year before reversing and closing positive by about 1.5% not quite as big as the gain

that we saw on the Dow Jones that index up 572 points but 1.85% the Dow only went negative

slightly on the day.

I think I saw it down over 100 points very briefly it was mostly the tech sector which

was very weak again in the face of rising interest rates but the big action happened yesterday

on Thursday where the markets really got smoked the catalyst being some of the comments

that were made or comments that were not made by Jerome Powell who was interviewed by

the Wall Street Journal.

And before I get to dissecting my thoughts on those comments and lack thereof I want

to talk a little bit about another price that continues to make headlines and that is
