Summary

Hey friends! Welcome to Girls’ Night! At the moment we’re in between seasons here on the show. But while we’re waiting for our next official season to begin, we thought this would be a great time to pull some of our favorite episodes out of the Girls Night archive. This is the perfect time to catch up on episodes you might have missed, or listen again to old favorites. Our guest for today’s episode is my amazing friend, Bianca Olthoff. Bianca is a Bible teacher, a speaker, and a writer. And speaking of writing, today, Bianca is sharing about a book she wrote called How to Have Your Life not Suck. I recently got my copy, and friends, it is so so good! We’ll actually talk more about it in today’s episode, she’ll tell us all about it. I wanted to have Bianca on the show today to talk to us about friendship, and actually, she’s here to talk about the part of friendship that I find to be the hardest: How to end a friendship. Every single one of us has come to a point in a friendship where things just aren’t going well — and I think every single one of us struggles to know what to do about it. We should fight for our friendships, right? And yes, we should! Sometimes. But there are other times when we’re in friendships that aren’t actually good for us, and other times when a friendship has just run its course. This is so hard to face, and it’s even harder to know what to do with this. But that’s why I’m so glad to have Bianca here today. She’s going to teach us how to recognize when a friendship needs to end, and then she’s going to teach us how to end it in a way that is kind, loving, and healthy. She’s also going to share with us some practical steps we can take today to start making some great new friends. I’m so excited about this episode. I just love Bianca, and I know you will too! Each week I have a girlfriend over and we talk through one of the biggest questions

we have about our lives as women. We're talking about friendships and faith and relationships

Life is so much better and easier and absolutely more fun when we navigate together as girlfriends

But while we're waiting for our next official season to begin, we thought that this would be a great

to catch up on episodes you might have missed throughout the years or to listen to old favorites

all over again. Our guests are incredible. I know that I learned something new each time I listened to

0:53.3

an episode, even if it's one I've heard a million times before. Okay, now without any further ado,

0:59.7

let's dive into the episode. Before we dive into the episode, there's something super fun I wanted

1:08.5

to share with you. Now there is nothing I love more than a girls trip. Friendship plus travel,

1:13.7

is there anything better? Nothing leaves me feeling more inspired, more rested, or more like my

very best self than an adventure with my best girls. It's truly my favorite form of self-care.

I was meeting up with my three best friends at a lake in Minnesota this last summer when we decided

1:29.0

that we needed matching girls trip shirts. Wanted? No, needed? Absolutely. The problem was we couldn't

1:35.9

find anything we liked. We couldn't find anything that was our style, first of all, and then many of

1:40.9

the shirts we did find had phrases we just really didn't resonate with. We ended up buying some shirts

that none of us were particularly excited about, but they worked for a photo or two. And it was

1:50.3

while I was on that trip, wearing that t-shirt that I had an idea. They say that if you can't find the

thing you're looking for, maybe you should make it. And so that's what I did. Over the next several
