0:07.7	Welcome in to FBT Express on Thursday, August 14th. I am Frank Stample joined by Scott White,
0:13.8	and we've got 15 prospects who could be called up very soon. In fact, two of them, we know,
0:20.3	are already getting called up.
0:21.6	We'll throw them at you in groups of five.
0:23.6	Can I first explain why they're likely to get called up soon?
0:27.3	Yes, you should.
0:27.9	Probably important to do.
0:30.1	Friday, August 15th, that marks the day when there are 45 days left on the major league calendar, which means any player
0:39.9	called up from that day forward will retain his rookie eligibility for next year.
0:45.4	And that's important because if a player, if a rookie is on a major league roster from start
0:51.5	to finish in his rookie season, and he places high enough in awards voting, especially rookie of the year that first year, but even other awards in future seasons.
1:02.6	Then his team has a chance to score extra draft picks because of that.
1:07.7	So retaining that rookie eligibility for a full season is critical.
1:14.4	And that's why a lot of teams wait until this point,
1:18.3	ever since the latest CBA teams have waited until this point to call up
1:21.5	some of their big prospects.
1:23.2	Yeah.
1:23.8	And we've seen that happen with Corby and Carroll, Gunner Henderson.
1:27.1	Then they went on the next year to actually win rookie of the year and actually earn those teams more draft picks.
1:34.0	So, yes, this has become a pretty regular thing in Major League Baseball.
