So Jan, like I said, you write a lot of crime fiction, you've got short stories, you've got

some novels out, and talk about your interest in forensic science and what kind of brought you to that specialization?

Right, well early on by the time I reached starting my second book, I realized that I was going

to need to learn a lot more about

evidence and how evidence worked and I found that forensic scientists were

really very generous in terms of seeing down and most writers in my genre find that and they're great at

explaining complex science to dummies or to people who don't understand sex because they have to do it before juries all the time.

So as I got to know these people and started going to classes and conferences and getting deeper into it because I enjoy science. and CSI was becoming a big hit.
