Summary
00:00 – Jimmy Cook and Brian Hammons open the show by talking about if the Colts should consider going after Lamar Jackson this offseason, as there are reports that he could be wanting out of Baltimore. They get into Butler and their loss to Creighton last night, as well as if Butler should leave the Big East. They then open up the phone lines and take some calls from listeners!
22:44 – Jimmy and Brian continue to talk about the Colts head coaching search, including the news that Lions OC Ben Johnson, who interviewed for the position, has decided to return to Detroit next season. They talk about Bennedict Mathurin, and the impressive play he has displayed during his rookie season, as well as how successful the last draft as a whole was for the Pacers.
37:08 – The first hour closes out with Jimmy and Brian talking about how all 8 QBs left in the NFL playoffs are alumni of the Manning Passing Academy, as well as the pressure on new Texas QB Arch Manning.
41:43 – Mike Chappell from CBS4 and FOX59 joins to talk about how this Colts season was the worst season in recent memory, and how, while there have been worse Colts team, this squad was probably the most disappointing one due to expectations before the season began. They talk about what the Colts should do with 4th overall pick, whether its trade up to #1 to get the top quarterback, or take their chances by staying put. They also dive into which coaching candidate is the most intriguing.
1:06:17 – Paul Corsaro, head coach of the UIndy Boys Basketball team, joins the program to talk about his teams recent run of success, and what it means to be ranked 18th in the polls. He talks about if he could see this success coming in his first few years at the program. He also gets into what has led to his team playing as well as it has, including fostering a sense of community with the team.
1:16:48 – Jimmy and Brian wrap up the 2nd hour by talking about Dan Quinn, and how, as one of the few head coaching candidates who has experience and in fact has been to a Super Bowl, could be an intriguing option for the Colts job. They also talk about Eric Bienemy and Mike Kafka, and how they could also be interesting candidates, as well as the news that former Colts head coach Frank Reich has interviewed with both Carolina and Arizona.
1:25:55 – Chris Denari from Bally Sports Indiana joins the show to preview the Pacers matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder this evening, and how the Pacers will try and stop their 4 game slide. They talk about what the blue and gold will have to do to try and overcome the absence of Tyrese Haliburton, both tonight and beyond. They also discuss Buddy Hield and his future with the team, as well as what pieces the team can add around its young core.
1:51:32 – Nate Taylor, who covers the Kansas City Chiefs for The Athletic, joins to give the rundown on Colts coaching candidate and current Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy. He talks about what he thinks Bienemy could bring as a head coach to the Horseshoe, as well as why he thinks Bienemy hasn’t gotten a head coaching opportunity yet. They also discuss what a Bienemy lead team could look like.
2:07:54 – Jimmy and Brian close out by giving the JCook Plays of the Day!
