It was a frigid December afternoon in 1986 when Jerry Tobias was found dead in the back of his pickup.

The 31-year-old oil field worker was curled up in the fetal position on the truckbed's bare metal floor wearing only blue jeans, a flannel shirt, and cowboy boots.

the cap of his truck where police found a fresh package of expensive stakes

from a local butcher shop.

Not much of a lead, but from that day forward the investigation into Jerry Tobias's death was

shady.

With multiple conflicts of interest, incompetent forensics experts, and a psychotic star witness,

the prosecution's case was often absurd.

In fact, it would have been comical, if not for the many lives that were completely

ravaged by it. So we were in Michigan for this case and we definitely need a

Michigan beer and I have one called Four Giants from one of my favorite breweries Founders Brewing

Company in Grand Rapids. This is an Imperial IPA 9.2% alcohol by volume. It's a nice clear copper color, fluffy white head, a little bit of lacing.

There's an aroma of sweet malt, citrus, and pine that leads to a taste of grapefruit, pine, and caramel.

It's nicely bitter, not oppressively so.

That's a very nice beer.
