And Ezra, I've wanted to talk to you about this for polarized and

Ezra I've wanted to talk to you about this for a while and glad we we finally got chance that thanks for coming on the show I'm excited what a what a what a pleasure to be here with you Joe we go yeah I go so much

further back with you in politics and I do with most people so I know it's an

honor I was thinking about that I mean it's been gosh almost two decades or something close to two decades you make an appearance in the book I don't know if you caught that

Yes I did things I really paid attention to your career the whole way.

And now I find myself learning more and more from you

as I read your stuff or listen to you.

So thanks for being on the show.

And here's what struck me.

You know, I've been talking about one of the problems

I think we have in the country right now

is particularly with Democrats.

I'll try to keep this not as a partisan thing.

But we view the world, you know, we've been in this Democrat versus Republican left right

thing for so long that people kind of who in both parties think it still

exist and it in both parties think it still exists.

And it doesn't quite still exist that way.

I mean, Joe Manchin, reaching across the aisle

is not the same thing today as it would have been two decades ago when you and I first started talking about this and then I got your insight or book about polarization and the difference between the interested and the

uninterested. And so now what worries me or what that made me think through is
