In a story from Andy Corby and the world at large publication, a giant snake thought to

have been one of the world's largest to ever slither the earth has been identified

in India.

Its massive size resulted in a set of vertebrae so large that paleontologists originally assumed it belonged to an extinct crocodile.

Described for the first time in the journal Nature Scientific Reports,

Sunil Bajpai and Dabajit Data from the Indian Institute of Technology at Rorki confirmed the new species Vasuki Indicus could grow as long as 49 feet.

That's 15 meters in length.
