We spoke with Terrick McCarrum, the British actor who plays Jesus in Fox Nations Jesus' Crown of Thorns, about the context this version offers, what he hopes season two does for viewers,

So I know you had a diverse career before this role, including more than one British TV series.

You had theater roles as well.

How does playing Jesus compare to anything

else that you've done? That's some question by the way. Gosh, I don't know. The way I like to look at it

is that I've, I guess I look at my life as if it's been one big training, one big lesson.

I've been sharpening the toolkit, as it were,

sharpening the tools, ready for this role.

So I guess all the roles do, all the experiences that I've had throughout my career

have somehow played into being able to now take on the mighty role of Jesus. And I suppose

the good thing in the UK is our theatrical pedigree is, you know, is excellent. And I guess being on

the stage teaches you not to be afraid to go there. And certainly playing Jesus requires you to go there and not to be afraid of it.

And when someone shoves a camera in your face, naturally you want to play as minimal as possible

because you know you don't want to overact, you don't want to force anything, you don't want it to be non-truthful.
